Healthy, Tasty and Easy Snack Ideas for Kids

Healthy, Tasty and Easy Snack Ideas for Kids
CNS Confectionery Products, LLC

It’s not always easy finding the right snacks for our kids, especially when it comes to healthy and tasty snacks.

Finding the right snacks for our kids takes a little creativity and constant readjustments. Instead of driving yourself crazy over what snacks to send your children to school with, or what to give them throughout the day, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite healthy, brain-boosting snacks your children will love.

Fruit and Nut Butter

Depending on what your children like to eat, we find apples and peanut butter or, almond butter go over well every time. You can even add in a little honey to this snack for a sweet kick without the sugar.

We also love bananas with any nut butter of choice. Send this treat with your kids to school in a Tupperware, or save it for when they’re at home singing how hungry they are, when we all know it’s something sweet they want.

Seaweed Snack

This isn’t for everyone, but for those kids who do love this snack, what a treat! It’s so healthy and easy to pack into any lunch bag. Especially because in most places, like Trader Joes, the packages are the perfect size for your child to take with them anywhere.

Trail Mix

We love mixing together our own trail mix. This can include roasted almonds, cashews, toasted coconut, roasted pumpkin seeds, roasted sunflower seeds, crunchy granola, dried fruit and healthy chocolate chips. If there’s a strict no-nut rule at your kids school, skip out on the nuts and go for all the delicious seeds. It’s a healthy and irresistible snack that can be poured into yogurt or eaten by the handful.

***If you’re a food distributor interested in selling trail mix, or a relative of the sort, reach out to us! We sell wholesale ingredients, including many of the toppings listed above.

Granola Bars / Granola Energy Balls

Who doesn’t enjoy a sweet granola bar in the middle of the day? This is an all year-long snack that we’ll pack in our kid’s lunches but also save some for ourselves!

If you want to make your own granola bar, we’d recommend using the ingredients listed above in the trail mix section. You can also add in hemp seeds, chia seeds and flax seeds for an omega-3 boost! Here’s one recipe we enjoy making that comes out delicious every time.

Chips and Guacamole

Yum, just reading chips and guacamole can make anyone want to whip up a fresh batch immediately. You can squeeze on some added lemon and leave in the pit when sending this treat with your child to school. This way the guacamole won’t go brown. Though we all know all it takes is scraping off that top layer, us adults are willing to go the extra mile for guacamole, not all of our kids will.

Smoothies

There’s no reason why we should be limiting our smoothie intake to summer. Smoothies are delicious all year long. Especially when we have proper heating indoors! Some of our favorite ingredients we love to add to our nutritious and delicious smoothies include:

  • Coconut
  • Spinach
  • Frozen Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, acai
  • Bananas
  • Hemp seed, chia seed, flax seed, pumpkin seeds
  • Walnuts, almonds
  • Almond milk / coconut milk / hemp milk / coconut water

What's your child's favorite snack?
